His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddien Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha last night consented to attend a banquet in conjunction with His Majesty's 64th birthday, hosted by the Royal Brunei Police Force.
Upon arrival at the Assarraa Hall, His Majesty and Her Majesty were greeted by the Police Commissioner, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Kerma Setia Dato Paduka Seri Awang Zainuddin bin Jailani and other senior police officers.
Also present were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, Deputy Inspector General of Police and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab' Rahman. Also present were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Abdul Azim, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al Islam.
His Majesty later consented to exchange greetings and mingled with officers and personnel of the Royal Brunei Police.
The Royal Brunei Police Force is one of the most prominent and oldest government agencies in the country. Established on the 1st of January 1921, the Royal Brunei Police Force was then responsible for managing the prison duties, immigration, land transport and fire services. Throughout its establishment, various history had been recorded including its involvement at the international level. The Royal Brunei Police Force has also been a law enforcement organisation since it was first established.
His Majesty later consented to cut a birthday cake and receive a pesambah presented by the Police Commissioner.
The Royal Brunei Police Force greatly needs the full support from the public in together combating illegal activities in the country including crimes. In upgrading its services to the public, various plans have been implemented. At the same time, relations between the police and the public will continue to strengthen in efforts to ensure the nation's continued peace and stability
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei Darussalam is the Inspector General of Police.
In carrying out tasks required by the nation, the Royal Brunei Police Force's philosophy is adapted to the ideology of Malay Islamic Monarchy, MIB.
The Royal Brunei Armed Forces is an organisation entrusted with the responsibility to implement the country's laws and regulations. Every member of the police personnel is equipped with the knowledge and skills in policing and in the laws of the nation.
At the end of the banquet, His Majesty consented to sign the Royal Parchment.
With the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Royal Brunei Police Force is able to place itself on par with other police forces regionally and internationally.
