The 2010 Convention of Knowledge would not have been successful without the support and contributions from the convention's local and overseas experts. This was said by the Second Minister of Finance at the Prime Minister's Office at the 2010 Convention of Knowledge Appreciation Night in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 64th birthday celebration, last night.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman said the support and contribution have brought about the main success of the 2010 Knowledge Convention which is the sharing of knowledge that is beneficial to the country. Touching on the exhibitions, Yang Berhormat said that the participants have showcased materials that will continue to be remembered and talked about by the convention's visitors.
At the function, Yang Berhormat received the decision and proposal of the Chairman of the Malay Experts Conference, Associate Professor Doctor Haji Hashim Bin Haji Abdul Hamid.
The function ran concurrently with the presentation of prizes to the winners of the novel writing competition in the 2007 Knowledge Convention. The panel of judges report has decided that no participants was qualified for the Honorary First Prize. However, five novels were awarded appreciation prizes of four thousand dollars each. The members of the Malay Experts Conference, Lecturers and Participants also received their respective certificates of appreciation.
