Brunei Darussalam should be ready to face the era of globalisation. The effects of globalisation is continuous and its influence is getting stronger. Therefore, Brunei Darussalam should be prepared to conform to the situation. Such was voiced by the Principal of the History Centre in a motivational talk entitled, 'Kelangsungan Melayu Brunei' or the Survival of Brunei Malays, this morning.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Jawatan Dalam Seri Maharaja Dato Seri Utama Doktor Haji Awang Mohammad Jamil Al-Sufri also reminded the country not to be careless and complacent in the main globalisation preparation which is knowledge. This is because knowledge is the basis for an individual to improve his standard of living, making him a knowledgeable Brunei Malay. Yang Berhormat added that knowledge is also vital in planning and forming a progressive nation.
The talk was chaired by a Lecturer from the Faculty of Islamic Civilisation and Arabic Language, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, Wan Habib bin Wan Ibrahim.
