The National Youth Congress 2019 carries a main goal of acting as a formal event platform for youths to share their views and vision with policy makers as well as non-government organisations. It is also aimed to together contribute ideas and proposals for solutions for challenges currently faced yesterday as well as challenges expected in the next 5 to 10 years.

Awang Ihsan Sabri @Zayn Haji Abdul Manap, Administration Officer, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as the Co-Secretary of the National Youth Congress 2019, stated the matter in an interview with RTB. The 2-day National Youth Congress organised by the Ministry in collaboration with strategic partners will take place this Sunday at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

According to Awang Ihsan Sabri, at the National Youth Congress, the youths will discuss, draft and present a resolution based on 3 major topics which will be the main discussion namely Future Ready Youth, Youth Entrepreneurship, and Youth Participation. The three major topics are based on the findings of a national youth policy review study of which the resolutions will be made into a guideline towards further improving the national youth policy.

With the theme 'Bersama Mencorakkan Masa Hadapan Kita' or Together Designing Our Future, youths are urged during the congress to grab the opportunity to interact, discuss on proposals highlighted towards developing and preparing youths to become future youths of excellence in line with national development. The youths are also urged to make their own studies first and go to the congress' secretariat website www.belia.gov.bn to find out the topics as well as synopses. From there they can make a study of best practices which are successful in another country and can be adapted into the MIB and Bruneian concept.
