The Ministry of Health yesterday received contributions in the form of medical supplies and equipment costing 1 million US Dollars from Zhejiang Hengyi Group Co., Ltd. as part of its social corporate responsibility to help the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in dealing with COVID-19 infection in the country.
The contributions were handed over by Mr. Chen Lian Cai, Chief Executive Officer of Hengyi Industries Company to Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health. The contributions will be sent in phase and will deliver directly to the country from China.
The first batch of delivery will arrive next week, including 5 ventilator units and 50 units of electric bed and will be distributed to hospitals as well as isolation centres next week. Other medical and equipment supplies will arrive in the next delivery. Through such contributions, the Hengyi Group Company hopes to help in providing additional support to the Ministry of Health in order to tackle the pandemic. Also present was Awang Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy.
Meanwhile, Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital, Tutong yesterday received a contribution of 110 cartons of mineral water from Hua Ho Department Store, Tutong. Awang Jay Choo Jun Lee, manager of the store handed over the contribution to Dayang Noralina binti Haji Abdul Kahar, Senior Health Assistant, Ministry of Health. The contribution is the store's corporate responsibility in together dealing with COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
