His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah stresses that the Ministry of Religious Affairs is a landmark for Brunei Darussalam which is also called the Zikir Nation. His Majesty says that the Ministry of Religious Affairs is a symbol of the dignity and purity of Islam. Hence it needs officers and staff who are dedicated as well as efficient and fast in making decisions. In the titah in during an unscheduled visit to the Ministry of Religious Affairs yesterday morning, His Majesty highlights several issues that require attention, scrutiny, correction and action. They include the performance of Imams or prayer leaders, management and administration of Islamic Studies Affairs related to Religious Teachers' Service Scheme, weakness in the usage of Arabic among Arabic stream students and school buildings. His Majesty's attention also focused on the Syari'ah Affairs Department's role in the Management of Baitulmal, Tithe Affairs, its Collection and Distribution as well as the implementation of Halal Food Control under the Halal Certificate and Label Order. In the titah the Monarch emphasises the existence of the Ministry of Religious Affairs is vital in handling all aspects pertaining to religion. Among matters stressed by His Majesty is the da'wah or religious propagation movement.
