The Dikir Maulud resounded at mosques, surau and religious halls nationwide yesterday night. The Dikir maulud is held for 12 consecutive nights prior to the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu 'Alaihi Wassalam on the 12th of Rabiulawal. The opening of the Dikir Maulud is focused at Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital.
The reading surah al-Fatihah was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs.
The talk on the greatness of Selawat was delivered by Awang Mohammad Nasyith bin Superi, Religious Officer, Islamic Da'wah Centre. Instilling love towards Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wassalam as well as seeking special blessings for those who recite the selawat for the Prophet is a noble practise in shaping a Muslim individual's self-esteem.
The Dikir Assalamualaika was presented by the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque dikir group and the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque Syababussalam Youths.
