Islam places top priority toward cleanliness and it should begin from oneself by adopting it as a way of life.  The reminder came from a member of the Legislative Council, Yang Berhormat Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit at the launching of a cleanliness and beautiful landscape competition for resident of Kampong Danau in Tutong District.

Yang Berhormat Haji Ramli who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Telisai emphasised that preserving cleanliness and protection of the environment should be shouldered together and not totally given to the government.

At the function, four senior citizens planted fruit trees.  The competition is a continuation of last year's similar competition which was organised for the second time by the Mukim Danau Consultative Council with the objective of raising awareness on the importance of maintaining cleanliness that made the Kampong surrounding beautiful.  The action begin at respective residential houses with the planting flower and fruit plants and this also help to spread the good practise to other residents in the Mukim.
