Five participants of the Barista Basic Skills Training Course have been selected for two years of permanent employment. In the morning saw the contract signed for permanent employment under the Training and Employment Scheme, SLP. The agreement is the result of the Local Employment and Workforce Development Agency, APTK of the Ministry of Home Affairs, in guiding local job seekers and employers in the private sector to play a role in boosting the national socio-economy without depending on other parties.
The signing was witnessed by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Doktor Haji Affendy. It was between the Local Employment and Workforce Development Agency, APTK which was represented by the Senior Administrative Officer, Awang Mawardi bin Haji Mohammad as the Head of APTK; managers of restaurants and cafes as well as participants of the SLP. Thirteen participants initially signed up for the Barista Skills training course conducted by the Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical College in September last year. Out of 13, 10 successfully completed the On-the-Job Training programme for Baristas being attached with participating restaurants and cafes, while five of them landed jobs. Ten participants also received certificates for completing their in-service training programme.
