Residents of Mukims and Kampongs have been urged to be together responsible and contribute ideas, services, energy and whatever form of positive contribution in the Mukim or Kampong Consultative Councils for the sake of the prosperity of Mukims and Kampongs.
The Acting Tutong District Officer, Awang Haji Mohammad Suffian bin Haji Bungsu made the call at the presentation of certificate ceremony in the afternoon for the new members of the Mukim Kariam Consultative Council for the 2012-2016 session. The function was held at the hall of the District Officer's official residence in Tutong.
The Tutong Acting District Officer urged the Mukim and Kampong Consultative Council to carry out their duties that bring development to their Mukim as this needs a serious attention and join responsibility of members of the council and to decide the direction of the council to bring about an outcome that will later be acknowledged and remembered as a role model by the successive generations.
A total of 20 members of the 2012-2016 Mukim Kariam Consultative Council received their nomination certificates. A member of the Legislative Council, Yang Berhormat Orang Kaya Jaya Putera Dato Paduka Haji Muhammad Taha bin Abdul Rauf as the Penghulu of Mukim Kariam hoped the election of the new Council committee will be able to contribute new ideas and opinions to further develop and expand a number of projects suitable for the Mukim.
