The National Policy Forum on Creative Industries also held a panel discussion on creative cities and shared how urban design planning has worked for Australia, using Queensland as an example.
Among those present was the Deputy Minister of Culture Youth and Sports, Datin Paduka Hajah Adina. Also present was the Australian High Commissioner, His Excellency Mark Sawers. The Australian Creative Cities forum highlighted the fact that the modern economy is a knowledge economy, and creativity is among its key components. The concept of a creative city embeds this new form as a source of growth in the very structure of the urban environment. Several regions have successfully implemented the creative city concept. The forum shared the striking example of Queensland, that transformed in less than 30 years into one of Australia's more culturally dynamic states with a national and international profile. The forum and discussion is an inspiration and is expected to contribute to the growth of the Brunei Creative Industry.
