Culture plays an important role in shaping the values and philosophies of its society. It not only pertains to musical performances or traditional dances, but is a way of life or civilisation of the society as the culture's owner.
A two-day Adau Gayoh Festival was recently celebrated at the Sungai Liang Recreation Beach. The Adau Gayoh Festival Night was attended by the Belait District Officer, Awang Haji Harris bin Othman. It was highlighted by a performance of the Dusun culture. According to a member of the Mukim Sungai Liang Consultative Council, Awang Haji Hamdi bin Hj Muhd Isa, such festivals are organised in order to preserve the authenticity of the dusun culture.
