The signing of the comprehensive Master Plan Preparation Project was another significant step in the Ministry of Health's continuous effort towards achieving Vision 2035, "Together Towards Developing Healthy Citizens" particularly in ensuring high quality patient care services and delivery of efficient and effective services.
Throughout 28 years of its expansion, the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital has gone through several structural modifications besides the construction of new infrastructure to accommodate more sophisticated treatment equipment, additional spaces for consultations and treatment wards as well as the related medical services. The Objective of the Masterplan is to carry out a well-organised upgrading and renovation project that is comprehensive and conform to international standards. Towards achieving this objective, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to the preparation of the Masterplan to upgrade and refurbish the Hospital, in which the Ministry of Health has taken the necessary action in upholding and implementing the project according to the titah. With the accomplishment of the masterplan, planning for the service expansion and infrastructure of the Hospital will be more organised, integrated and in line with the Ministry of Health's vision that focuses on excellent services. Apart from that, it is also to ensure the infrastructure provided will be able to fulfill the services' long-term requirements, encompassing the aesthetic and green concept, as well as becoming more customer-friendly. Initial studies had been carried out by a consortium earlier this month, and the Master Plan is expected to be ready by November this year.
