The National Service Program Phase 2 Pilot Project, drew participants closer to the Al-Quran and Sunnah with a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony this morning at the Dewan Digadong, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Present was the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hazair. The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony saw 94 program participants including 28 females taking part. The ceremony began with the reading of surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Pehin.
Doa khatam was then read by a male participant, Mohammad Marzuqy bin Sabtu.
The ceremony was one of the steps taken to raise awareness of the importance of religion and the Al-Quran in everyday life and helps mould youth to make Brunei a 'zikir nation'. Parents, officers and instructors were also present.
