The Royal Brunei Armed Forces Training Institute has the role of generating the nation's efficient, resolute and obedient soldiers in line with the motto of the recruit company. The armed forces should implement their duties professionally, be honest as well as trustworthy to improve the credibility of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and at the same time, contribute to universal peace and nation development. The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Haji Abdul Aziz Bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yussof made the call at the passing out parade for the male of the 145th intake held at the Drill ground of the RBAF's Training Institute in Penanjong Garrison.
The Permanent Secretary was also proud and pleased with the approach of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces currently in highlighting spiritual education and religious-related matters in strengthening the belief and faith of the members of the force and hoped that it will be continued from time to time.  These matters are implemented with the establishment of the Religious Department of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces which has a role of disseminating and strengthening Islamic teachings in the armed forces. The role of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces is inline with the Islamic concept of Jihad to uphold the religion and protection of the nation is important in ensuring the Islamic principles continue to prevail in the face of the earth.
A total of one hundred and eleven male recruits from the 145th intake concluded their 25 weeks of basic military training. There was also presentation of prizes to instructors and the best recruits who have achieved outstanding performance throughout the training period. Mohammad Hafizzul Amirin bin Haji Mohammad Sharazmi was selected as the overall best male recruit. Mohammad Aizuddin bin Haji Wahid is the best in the Rifle M-16 A-2 shooting, Mohammad Rezuan bin Emran, the best in physical training and Mohd Aminuddin bin Haji Salleh is the best in academic. Meanwhile Mohammad Najib bin Haji Ibrahim is the best in shooting for Heavy Barrel Automatic Rifle, Mohd Yasreeen bin Haji Othman as the best instructors and the best Platoon Sergeant went to Awang Hairullah bin Metassim. Among those present was the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminudin Ihsan.
