The Tutong District was the second district to welcome His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for the Junjung Ziarah and Get-Together Ceremony with the rakyat. Thousands of citizens from all walks of life and ethnicities gathered at the Tutong Civic Centre field in order to grab the opportunity to meet and greet the beloved monarch first hand.
Present with His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, His Royal highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik, and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
His Majesty's presence in the Tutong district was a moment that has been long awaited by the district's citizens and residents in order for them to express their love and care towards the monarch and at the same time give their best wishes in conjunction with His Majesty's 66th birthday. Rakyat and residents of all ages came together to welcome the monarch with a feeling of gratefulness for His Majesty's care and attention towards the various aspects of his subjects' needs.
Such a function also acts as a platform for citizens and residents in the district to show the unity, solidarity and self-esteem of the Bruneian people who practises mutual respect, tolerance as well as togetherness in making a success of every nation development agenda that was derived by His Majesty. The participation of residents of various races at the ceremony also showed the high spirit of solidarity, loyalty and patriotism in every person at a function that has become a unique tradition in the country.
The presence of senior citizens also proved their love and care towards the monarch, regardless of feeling tired. The field was packed with senior citizens who have attended to together take part in the ceremony's joyful atmosphere. In nation development, senior citizens play a vital role following their involvement while in service either in the public or private sectors. According to a number of senior citizens, under His Majesty's wise leadership, Brunei Darussalam has achieved progress in various aspects.
His Majesty's care and attention that priotises the well-being of the rakyat in the district, is clearly proven through various efforts that are not limited to only one but is made holistically. The government continues to give equal attention to the Tutong District as in the other districts in the provision of various facilities.
With the blessed leadership of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the rakyat and residents in the district continue to enjoy life in peace and solidarity. The strong ties of loyalty, cooperation and solidarity shown, proves the loyalty of the people towards His Majesty's leadership. The Tutong District has eight mukims with a population of almost 44 thousand people. A large number of the residents are employed in the government and private sectors. Some of them are also self-employed such as in business or agriculture.
After consenting to receive greetings from the rakyat and residents in the Tutong District, His Majesty proceeded to the Dewan Utama of the Tutong District Civic Centre Complex for a luncheon.
Prior to leaving the Tutong District, His Majesty and the royal entourage consented to receive greetings from the members of the Executive Committee for His Majesty's 66th birthday celebration in the Tutong District. For the populace, His Majesty's presence in the Tutong District is a proof of the monarch's love and attention towards the rakyat and residents regardless of their background.
