The Temburong District with its community of different races and religions, welcomed the arrival of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izaddien Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for a Get-together and Junjung Ziarah ceremony with citizens and residents in the Temburong District, in conjunction with His Majesty's 66th birthday.
Upon arrival in Bangar Town, His Majesty was greeted with absolute gratitude and happiness by all levels of the community in the Temburong District. Regardless of race and religion, all of the district residents felt very fortunate to have a king who is wise, caring, compassionate and people-oriented. His Majesty consented to meet his subjects and other residents in the district in conjunction with the most meaningful day for both the leader and the people.
Hundreds of secondary and primary school students line-up along the roadsides leading to the Bangar Town Civic Centre Complex Padang, waving small Brunei Darussalam flags.
The beating of hadrah further enliven the atmosphere of celebration in welcoming His Majesty and members of the royal family. Also present were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
Mukim Penghulus, Village Chiefs, Heads of Department Branches, Committee members as well as the citizens and residents of the Temburong District together expressed their loyalty towards His Majesty with three cheers of Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik.
The Acting Temburong District Officer, Awang Suhara Fadzali Haji Yusop, representing the citizens and residents as well the public service staff in the Temburong, conveyed their gratitude, and expressed appreciation for this Majesty's titah in conjunction with His Majesty's 66th birthday on the 15th of July, consenting to several initiatives to be implemented by the government. Among the initiatives was a Plan to build a bridge linking Temburong District with the Brunei Muara District. Verily, Awang Suhara Fadzali added, the news announced by His Majesty in the titah, was a very-much awaited and highly appreciated by all the citizens and residents in the district. He also conveyed the people's resolution to continue to uphold and support His Majesty's desire for the implementation of the development programmes towards achieving the Nation's Vision 2035.
His Majesty then consented to watch the Special Performances presented by the resident of the Temburong District themed "The King's Vision and the Citizens' Vision are the Nation's Vision. The performances carried the concept of "Darussalam Bilhuda" meaning A Peaceful Harmonious and Safe Nation with the Guidance of Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala.
The performances presented by 466 participants comprising school students, youth, uniformed teams and ethnic communities in the Temburong District illustrated the history of the arrival, development and progress of Islamic Eminence in Brunei Darussalam as well as the Nation's Vision 2035 that is to be achieved. This is particularly in the field of religion including His Majesty's aspiration to make Brunei Darussalam a Nation of Zikir that embraces Islam as a life guidance and practice to ensure well-being in this world and the hereafter. In conjunction with His Majesty's 66th birthday, in the titah at the Audience and Investiture ceremony to bestow State decorations and medals on the 15th of July, His Majesty had consented for the new Syariah Criminal Enactment Order to be implemented in the country.
The stage performances portrayed Brunei Darussalam as a country that is peaceful and prosperous with the guidance of Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala. The performances upheld his Majesty's position as the Country's Head of Religion and a role model with high leadership values and personality, who loves Al-Quran as the basis of the religious life in the country, as well as His Majesty's attitude as a caring monarch who always pays attention to the welfare of his subjects including those in the Temburong District.
The theme, "The King's Vision and the Citizens' Vision are the Nation's Vision" is designed to keep alive the spirit of monarchical Brunei which is governed by a king, whereby, according to an ancestral adherence, Brunei stands with the association and solidarity of the citizens who have handed over the power over themselves to the sultan to become the country's property.
The celebration which has already become the Bruneian tradition in glorifying the birthday of the country's ruler, was a manifestation of the people's love and loyalty to the king. At the same time, the celebration involving all levels of the community was also a platform for strengthening cooperation and solidarity of the citizens in together upholding the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
