His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam, LAST NIGHT graced another banquet in conjunction with His Majesty's 66th birthday.The banquet held at the Istana Nurul Iman was for uniformed personnel and members of various uniformed associations.
Also in attendance were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab. Rahaman; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam; and other members of the royal family.
Doa selamat was read by the State Mufti, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doktor Ustaz Awang Haji Abdul Aziz.
The banquet is an event traditionally held during His Majesty's annual birthday celebration for uniformed personnel and associations- as a mark of appreciation on their vital role and responsibility- towards the country as well as the Rakyat and residents. As Head of State and Government, His Majesty pays utmost attention to his government's administration machinery.
His Majesty is a leader of the main focuses in the areas of defence- and understand the roles and responsibilities of uniformed members. This is evident by ensuring territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence/ and the people are protected from the elements and external threat. His Majesty does not ignore the expectations of the citizens and residents of this country, to continue to enjoy peace and prosperity. In this case the whole citizens and residents urged to support and provide full cooperation in combating crime that this country is free from any threat.
His Majesty later consented to receive greetings from all those present, starting from officers and staff of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF. The existence of the RBAF with professionalism and capability is to serve as the main frontier of defence of Brunei Darussalam. The RBAF executes noble value duties to defend the country from elements which could threaten national stability and sovereignty.
With His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
As the ruler of a fully independent and sovereign nation, His Majesty's responsibility is to mould the future of the country and to ensure the security and prosperity of the people. Over the years, Brunei has gone through rapid development and economic growth aside from providing various services and facilities for its people, especially from aspects of health, education as well as job opportunities.
In His Majesty's Titah during the 28th National Day, His Majesty outlines the consolidate people's identity as a devout religious Brunei and cultured. His Majesty also said in his Titah that the citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam quickly with the tide but to camp and patrotism in the defense and practice of heritage value, such as good manners, language, race and so on because of all this is a mark of our existence.
Likewise, are the development and roles of the Royal Brunei Police Force. In this era of globalisation, the roles of the Royal Brunei Police Force are also challenging. In its commitment to safeguard peace and security, various measures are taken toward enhancing the Royal Brunei Police Force, embracing equipment and manpower.
The strong cooperation among government officials should be fully considered so that the government could continuously contribute the best service to the country for the benefit and prosperity of the people. The opportunity to meet each other in this function could futher forge cordial friendship and cohesive cooperation.
Uniformed voluntary organisations also play vital roles in community affairs and national development. In times of need, they are ever ready to engage in voluntary activities, such as providing assistance to those in need.
