Brunei Darussalam will determine the start of the holy month of Ramadhan or the Fasting Month Thursday afternoon. The sighting of the new moon of Ramadhan will be conducted at several designated areas in the Brunei-Muara, Belait and Tutong Districts.
The result of the sighting will be announced through Radio and Television Brunei. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's office in a media release announced that by the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddien Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan And Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the working hours for ministries and government departments throughout the month of Ramadhan for the year Hijrah 1433/2012 are as follows:
Working hours from Monday to Thursday and Saturday begin at 8.00 in the morning until 2.00 in the afternoon. Meanwhile for daily-paid workers is one hour less than their usual working hours and the decision for the start of their working hour will be decided by their respective ministries and departments.
