Meanwhile, a Ramadan Iftar or a breaking of a fast function with orphans and the children of families who had received assistance through the Katakijau Humanitarian Aid Action Group Fund was held yesterday in conjunction with the Nuzul Al-Quran for 1433 Hijrah and as a way of giving to orphans and children from underprivileged families.
A total of 30 orphans and underprivileged children received contributions from Katakijau presented by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Datin Paduka Hajah Adina binti Othman. Contributions were also made by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam and the Seri Mulia Sarjana Schoo. The Ramadan Iftar is under the Titian Amal Ramadan Programme - an Annual Programme of Katakijau.
During the function the Managing Director Mr. Javed Ahmad presented contribution to the 'Khairat Fund' of the Katakijau group. The contribution was handed over to the president of the group Awang Rozan bin Haji Kaderi. The Khairat Fund is intended to finance charity works and assist the less fortunate, destitute or victims of disaster.
