The country has improved in the 'Ease of Doing Business' entrepreneurial climate. The Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister's Office, in his adjournment speech, underscored the country's improvement which can be seen clearly and have not been achieved before this.
Thus, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Singamanteri Retired Colonel Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, urged all parties to continue to together further contribute to entrepreneurial eco-system development.
Yang Berhormat said the success of Ease of Doing Business has shown that the country is more effective if there is unity as in the saying 'Together We stand, Divided We Fall'. In moving forwards, the development of digital economy in Brunei Darussalam is vital to enable local businesses to continue to expand and facilitate penetration into the international market. The country needs to build an eco-system that will facilitate the use of information technology, not only in e-commerce but also from various aspects that can strengthen local services and products.
Also touched upon was the country's involvement in the efforts to address climate change. According to Yang Berhormat, the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is committed to reduce 63 percent of the major supply by 2035. The dissemination of the energy-saving efficiency initiative in government buildings and others, the role and leadership of youth groups and non-government organisations such as the Beach Bunch and Earth Hour is encouraging and vital in this matter. Yang Berhormat hoped that they will continue to work together with the government to address climate change.
