The Tasik Lama Recreational Park is one of the Eco-Tourism destinations in the country. As a recreation park, it is often used for activities such as jogging and jungle trekking.To ensure safety and comfort as well as security of the park that is frequently visited by the public, the Municipal Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, has held a voluntary work to upgrade the jungle track found in the area.
More than 300 people took part in the activity including the Acting Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi and the Acting Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Also joining the activity, were personnel of the Royal Brunei Police Force, the Fire and Rescue Department and the Brunei Muara District Office as well as members of non-government organisations.
Yang Dimuliakan Pehin said that the initiative was good and noble as it showed the attentiveness of His Majesty's government in taking care of public facilities in Brunei Darussalam. Moreover the facility is located at the heart of the capital and that not many such a facility can be found in other countries. Yang Dimuliakan Pehin hoped that in emphasising on enhancing and preserving the tranquility of the park, visitors would always show their responsibility and concern by taking care of the beauty and harmony of the place.
