Close understanding and cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Indonesia is further enhanced with the courtesy call made by the Indonesian delegation to the Ministry of Home Affairs. The call also aimed to exchange ideas and to share experience in matters of mutual interest.
The Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin received a courtesy call from the Committee of the Dewan Perwakilan of the Republic of Indonesia or D.P.D. R.I. led by His Excellency Kiai Haji Muhammad Syibli Sahabuddin. His Excellency was accompanied by seven other members. Present was the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic fo Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Handriyo Kusumo Priyo. The courtesy call was followed by a meeting involving discussions on labour between officers of the Ministry of Home Affairs, particularly from the Labour Department and the Department of Immigration and National Registration, and the Indonesian delegates. The meeting was chaired by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Doctor Haji Affendy. The D.P.D R.I delegation is in Brunei Darussalam for a 7-day visit ending May 5th, 2012.
