All families are encouraged to allocate quality time with their family members and join the national family day event to be held simultaneously at eleven allocated zones throughout the country tomorrow. Besides various activities at each zone, a number of restaurants and companies are also offering promotional prices especially for customers with family members.

Meanwhile, the mass Maghrib and Isyak Prayers, the reading of Surah Yassin and Doa Kesyukuran were held at all mosques and suraus throughout the country with the main focus was at the Jame' Asr' Hassanal Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong. Present were the Minister of Culture Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Dirja Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hazair and his deputy, Datin Paduka Hjh Adina. Also present was the Commissioner of Police, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Dato Paduka Haji Hasrin.
In the Temburong district, the function was held at the Utama Muhammad Salleh Mosque. Present were the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad, the Permanent Secretary at the ministry, Awang Haji Abdul Aziz and the Acting Temburong District Officer, Awang Suhara Fadzali as well as a member of the Legislative Council, Yang Behormat Awang Haji Sulaiman.
At the Hassnal Bolkiah Mosque in the Tutong district, a similiar function was also held. Present were the Acting Tutong District Officer, Awang Haji Muhammad Sufian, members of the Legislative Council, Yang Berhormat Orang Kaya Maha Bijaya Awang Haji Othman, Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Haji Abdullah and Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli.
Meanwhile, in the Belait District, the focal point was the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque. Present were the Penghulu of Kampung Pandan, Awang Haji Pungut as well as residents in the district. The Family Day celebration is to strengthen the social fabric and improve the well-being through effective joint efforts in generating a quality community and race.
