Officers from the Temburong district office recently attended a council meeting of the Mukim Labu Mukim and Kampung Consultative council at the Labu Estate Hall in Temburong.
The meeting touched on the disolution of Kampong Labu Estate consultative council members for the 2006 to 2011 session and the appointment of new members for the Kampong Labu Estate consultative council for 2012 to 2017. The Acting Temburong district officer, Awang Suhara Fadzali bin Haji Yusof called on members of the Mukim and Kampong consultative council and kampong Labu Estate residents to unite and support the kampong's activities and projects as well as it's development.
The Penghulu of Mukim Labu, Hj Abdurahman bin Haji Nasir, says that with the appointment of the new committee members of the 2012-2017 session, the committee will establish an 'excellent village competition' bureau. The consultative council, as well as village residents, have already planned to develop the plantation of chilli.
Brunei Darussalam Museum personnel are fostering and developing a basic rubber industry in Kampung Labu Estate which is open to visits from the public. The rubber industry was planned as an eco-tourism site for school students and the visiting public.
