Maintaining and taking care of the cleanliness and beauty of the surrounding areas of kampungs, mukims, districts and country is the social responsibility of every individual member of the community in together securing the satisfactory level of comfort and health of the nation.
In this regard, a voluntary cleaning campaign was carried out in Jalan Limbaruh Buntar, Kampung Subok, Mukim Kota Batu.
Among those taking part in the activity was the Brunei Muara District Officer, Awang Haji Jamain. The campaign that began early this morning involved clean-up work in Jalan Limbaruh Buntar area in Kampung Subok, that is often used by the public as a place for recreational activities. Also joining the campaign was a member of the Legislative Council, Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ghapor alias Haji Daud Bin Karim who is also the Ketua of Kampong Belimbing.
Yang Berhormat said that members of the public who used to carry out jogging exercise in the area had complained to him about a bad smell coming from rubbish dumped indiscriminately in the area, polluting the air there. Now the ground has been cemented and the paths paved.
This integrated cleaning campaign was carried out together with the Mukim Kota Batu Consultative Council and Kampung Subok Consultative Council with the cooperation of the Brunei Maura District Office, the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department and the Department of Environment, Park and Recreation.
