The International Nurses and Midwives' Day is celebrated on May 12th every year. The Department of Nursing Services of the Ministry of Health held a Doa Kesyukuran in conjunction with the celebration.
Present was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Salam bin Momin. The function began with the Mass Maghrib Prayer followed with the Recital of Tahlil and Doa Arwah, and the Mass Isyak Prayer and special doa for the Nurse Day, led by the Imam of the 'Jubli Perak' Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Jangsak, Haji Sabtu Bin Haji Abdullah.
The function also coincided with the conversion of two nurses from the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital and one from the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital in Kuala Belait. This year's celebration carried the theme: ''Closing The Gap : From Evidence to Action''.
