Meanwhile, the officer from the Royal Brunei Police, Superintendent Matusin bin Haji Jumat will join the International Monitoring Mission Team to help maintain ceasefire in a number of areas in Mindanao, Philippines. A doa selamat and as special Sunat Hajat Prayer for the police officer was held in the morning at the Surau of the Police Headquarters in Gadong.
Present was the Commissioner of Police Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Dato Paduka Seri Haji Hasrin. The function began with the sunat Hajat prayer led by the Imam of the Surau, Sergeant Major Pengiran Haji Ludin bin Pengiran Metahir who also read the Doa Selamat.
Superintendent Matusin will depart the country along with the delegation from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The International Monitoring Team has a role and responsibility to monitor and oversee the ceasefire in the aspect of social and economic development as well as the safety of civilian as agreed by the Philippine government. Apart from that, the team also act as 'Conflict Management' that prevent any incidents developing into real conflict beside acting as peaceful inter-mediator for the warring sides.
