21 Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE students pursuing the Diploma in Refinery Operator under the Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd and IBTE Joint Scholarship Programme left for the People's Republic of China to continue their studies at Lanzhou Petrochemical University of Vocational Technology.

Among those present at the Brunei International Airport was His Excellency Xiao Jianguo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam. The programme aims to empower local talents with the knowledge and skills required to become future leaders of the Petrochemical Industry.
