​Sustainability remains as the core of Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD in its support for Wawasan Brunei 2035. Apart from that, BIBD will also continue to empower micro, small and medium enterprises, investing in the people, and driving positive social impact. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy as Chairman of BIBD stated the matter as BIBD was awarded the Brunei's Bank of The Year 2023 by The Banker.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah said the recognition came with an immense responsibility and fueled BIBD's determination to not only continue delivering exceptional Islamic banking services, but also contribute to Brunei's economic development and social well-being. The award was received by Awang Junaidi bin Haji Masri, BIBD's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at a ceremony held in London recently.
