​Brunei Darussalam is currently in the Northeast Monsoon and is expected until around end of March 2024. During the first two months of Northeast Monsoon, December 2023 and January 2024, also known as the rainy season, are the months that normally received the highest amount of rainfall and have recorded the highest number of rain days, in comparison to other months. Active weather condition is expected from tomorrow until Sunday, 24th of December 2023 with occasional heavy and thundery showers and wind gust may reach up to 50 kilometres per hour during or near heavy thundershowers.

There is a high risk of flash floods especially at low-lying and flood prone areas as well as near the river banks during continuous heavy rain and also during high tide. Risk of landslide and fallen trees are also possible during heavy showers and gusty condition. Public, road users and fishermen are advised to always take necessary actions to ensure safety during the active weather condition.
