​The Rites of Sacrifice strengthens relations aside from serving the community, especially for the needy. Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD, held a Meat Distribution Ceremony for Sacrificial Rites and Akikah. Held in conjunction with Aidiladha, the ceremony took place at the UBD Start-Up Centre, 19th June afternoon.

The sacrificial meats were distributed by Doctor Hazri Bin Haji Kifle, Vice Chancellor of U-B-D. This year, six buffaloes and five goats were sacrificed. The ceremony was organised by the UBD Student Affairs Section and Undergraduates Association.

Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA through the Religious Unit and Surau Committee, Student Affairs Office also held a similar ceremony. The ceremony was held at the UNISSA Sinaut Campus, Tutong District. The distribution was officiated by Doctor Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of UNISSA. This year, three buffaloes were sacrificed. Also held was a religious talk titled "Ibadah Korban Tanda Taqwa" or Rites of Sacrifice as a sign of piety.

Meanwhile, Politeknik Brunei held a Rites of Sacrifice at Politeknik Brunei Campus in Lumut. 276 packets of sacrificial meats were distributed to selected poor and destitute recipients. The sacrificial meats were distributed by Dayang Arbaniah binti Haji Sablee, Assistant Director of Politeknik Brunei.
