The culmination of the 19th National Youth Day celebration was the presentation of the National Youth Day Awards namely the Excellent Youth Award; Youth Service Award; Young Youth Leader Award and the Excellent Project Award For Youth. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented the awards.

 

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, as the Chairman of the celebration's executive committee.

 

Also present were His Majesty's son and brother;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; and, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

 

The ceremony commenced with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

 

In his welcoming speech, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports among others underlined a number of progress involving the youth sector including the Implementation of the National Youth Policy Action Plan and Strategy 2020 to 2024, and the Youth Development Index Study 2024.

 

The reading of the Youth Pledge was led by Awang Abdul Qawiyyel Azeez bin Haji Abd Rajid, champion of the National Youth Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Reading 2024. Motivation and inspiration to continue to pursue dreams are shown through a video clip.

 

This year's celebration features cultural innovation and the wisdom of Bruneians in conveying thoughts through the art of poetry.

 

The Excellent Youth Award went to Dayang Basma Lachkar, the national wushu athlete. She received a trophy, 'kain Jong Sarat Bunga Bintang Gemilang,' Certificate of Appreciation, $3,000 cash and a vacation package to Istanbul contribution by Balurih Travel Sendirian Berhad.

 

The recipient of the Youth Service Award was Awang Muhammad Haziq Hisyam bin Mohd Zaki, Head of Synergy Unit, Persatuan Kemajuan Insan KESAN, received a trophy, 'kain Betabur Bunga Permata Bangsa,' Certificate of Appreciation, cash amounting $3,000 and a vacation package to Istanbul contribution by Balurih Travel Sendirian Berhad.

 

For the Young Youth Leader Award, Awang Mohammad Ashmeer bin Imtiaz Ahmad received a trophy; 'kain Jong Sarat Bunga Kebahagiaan,' Certificate of Appreciation, $3,000 cash and a vacation package to Istanbul contribution by Balurih Travel Sendirian Berhad.

 

The Excellent Project Award For Youth went to Lamin Warisan Project. The recipient received a trophy, Certificate of Appreciation and a $3,500 cash prize.

 

The theme "Future Ready Youth" is still retained to highlight the importance of the role of youth.
