In conjunction with the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu 'Alaihi Wassalam, celebrated on every 12th Rabiulawal, all mosques, suraus and and religious halls nationwide will continue to resound with Dikir Maulud for 12 consecutive nights, started on 4th September night. In the capital, the Dikir Maulud opening ceremony was held at Masjid Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Mosque.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs and followed by a tazkirah or talk titled "Kelebihan Berselawat".

The ceremony was enlivened with Dikir presentations. Also present were Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim Bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and Yang Berhormat Awang Lawi bin Haji Lamat, Member of the Legislative Council.
