The First Meeting of the Establishment of the Committee for the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations Marking 60 Years of the Reign of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in 2027, was held at the Prime Minister's Office, 22nd February morning.

It was co-chaired by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, the Chief of Adat Istiadat. In the opening sabda, the Chief of Adat Istiadat among other things recalled the Royal Wedding Ceremony in 2024, expressing hope that experience and lessons learned from the event will serve as a pledge to improve and enhance management towards the efficient and seamless implementation of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.

The Diamond Jubilee Celebration will be a historical event, in which all citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam will once again have the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of His Majesty throughout His Majesty's reign as a sovereign monarch who is attentive towards the welfare and peace of the people and the country. In attendance were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy as Co-Chairs. The meeting included a briefing on the structure and membership of the Steering Committee and Sectoral Committees of Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, including the need for preparations and action plans under the respective Sectoral Committees.
