The First Meeting of the 21st Legislative Council session on the 11th Day, approved the allocations for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health. Before the allocations were approved, the council first heard the responses to several queries by appointed members. Among those touched upon were health services commitments; workforce planning and disciplinary action on civil servants.
In response to practical and realistic measures to balance commitments in the provision of public health services, the Minister of Health shared that in addressing the inevitable increase in medical costs, the Ministry of Health has further enhanced its prevention and health awareness campaigns to the public.
Collaborating with stakeholders including industry and educational institutions as well as ensuring workforce planning is in line with industry needs. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy stated the action plan from the results of the CSPS study ensures the planning and provision of an appropriate and skilled workforce.
On government regulations for suspended civil servants, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence explained that the Public Service Commission requires complete, immediate and organised information from government agencies in considering disciplinary action in accordance with the regulations in force.
