​The Minister of Education also responded to the proposal on international standards and replacing the Primary School Assessment as student assessment.

The Ministry of Education has implemented student assessments across levels from primary to secondary, years 1 to 9 which are based on the National Standard which meets international standards, specifically the Brunei Darussalam Literacy and Numeracy National Standard, BDLNS. The Ministry of Education will always ensure the existing standards be strengthened and reviewed from time to time. The Ministry will also create standards for other subjects such as Science, Malay Language, Financial Literacy and others.
