​After 14 days of deliberations in an atmosphere of mutual respect, harmony and goodwill including that it is during the month of Ramadhan, the First Meeting of the 21st Legislative Council Session was adjourned. The sum of 6.35 billion dollars was allocated for the national budget for the Financial Year 2025/2026.

The National Budget for the Financial Year 2025-2026, retains the theme, 'Building A Prosperous Future Together', among others to ensure continuity and a consistent as well as concerted approach in implementing the budget policies and objectives.

The theme focuses on three priorities namely Improving Public Well-being and Productivity; Instilling Resilient Economic Diversity and Development of A Dynamic and Visionary Human Capital. 

May all the issues and matters deliberated on during the 1st Meeting of the 21st Legislative Council session can ensure future generations have opportunities such as at this time and better in the future.
