His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office in a sabda stresses on the significant role of all stakeholders, especially in together upholding and implementing the teachings and recommendations of His Majesty, is in line with the need to empower the community in internalising the pure teachings of Islam based on Maqasid Syariah towards producing a generation of the nation and country that always strives to gain the blessings of a worldly and hereafter life.

 

His Royal Highness made the sabda at the Official Opening Ceremony of the Final of the National Level Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Reading for Adults for 1446 Hijrah / 2025. The ceremony took place at the International Convention Centre, Berakas, 22nd April night.

 

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was greeted by:

 

- Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdu Kahar, Yang DiPertua of Adat Istiadat Negara;

 

- Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs;

 

- Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence;

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health as the Acting Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports;

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd. Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy;

 

- And Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs.

 

Also in attendance was His Royal Highness' brother, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.

 

The reading of Surah Al-Fatihah was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

 

In his welcoming remarks, the Minister of Religious Affairs among other things touched on the effort to make every Al-Qur'an literate generation through formal education covering religious lessons or practical Islamic knowledge specifically prayers and al-Qur'an reading in schools.

 

His Royal Highness in the sabda said the wisdom of Al-Qur'an is to be internalised with the heart and thought about with a healthy mind.

 

His Royal Highness in the sabda also stressed on the need to Safeguard the Mind and strengthen self-resilience is in line with the Musabaqah's theme which was 'Akal Sihat dengan Al-Qur'an' or A Healthy Mind with Al-Qur'an.

 

Six participants presented their readings on the first night. They were: Awang Haji Nasrul Fakhri bin Haji Yahya; Dayangku Alma Hazirah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri; Pengiran Muhd Amirul Aiman bin Pengiran Haji Marjuki; Dayangku Siti Ummi Syazana binti Pengiran Haji Marjuki; Awangku Adi Nazri bin Pengiran Haji Jofri and Dayangku Alya Syahirah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri. 

 

A Nasyid performance, Al-Qur'an Syafa'ah enlivened the ceremony. 6 more participants presented their readings last night, 23rd April 2025.
