​Radio Television Brunei, RTB's Radio Service Day is celebrated every 2nd of May. Starting its broadcast on the 2nd of May 1957, RTB now operates 5 radio stations which have its own concept and format, and is on the air 24 hours a day with a variety of programmes broadcast to meet the listeners' demands.

Changes, new media competition and the role of radio service to the community were among the matters highlighted during a Rampai Pagi interview. According to a senior producer, challenges and competition from new media cannot be avoided. However, these can be considered as a healthy competition which can encourage further improvement.

Although Radio Brunei's service nearly reaches 70 years, its role as the government's official communication media in providing vital information to the community remains relevant.
