All parties play a crucial role in ensuring that our food is safe and does not pose health risks. The matter was emphasised during a workshop in conjunction with the 2025 World Food Safety Day. The opening ceremony of the workshop took place at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health, 2nd July morning.
Dayang Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, who is also a member of the Brunei Darussalam Food Authority Board of Directors, stated that food industry stakeholders involved in food importing, manufacturing or retailing have a major role in safeguarding public health. The one-day workshop emphasised the critical role of science and evidence-based approaches in ensuring the food supply's safety, quality, and integrity, in which the shared responsibility requires collaboration, innovation, and continuous vigilance. This year's workshop carried the theme 'Food Safety: Science in Action.'
