09/07/2025  RTB Continues to Improve

National

9th July 2025 marks 50 years since the first Brunei TV broadcast was transmitted nationwide, an important moment in the country's broadcasting history. From just a few hours of colour broadcasts in 1975, Brunei TV has now grown rapidly into a major channel for building minds and uniting the people. Here is our special report on the transformation of TV services in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of TV Services.

Since its establishment 50 years ago, Television Services have played an important role in conveying policies, current news, education, dakwah, as well as the culture and identity of the nation. As a link between the Government and the community, RTB continuously implements improvements in program production to attract and educate viewers.

In line with the speed of the digital era, RTB offers content online through RTBGo, allowing viewers to follow broadcasts more easily. To meet the interests of diverse viewers, RTB needs to continue to strengthen its national identity and empower its research to produce better quality content. RTB also improves its technical system with signal transmission based on “Internet Protocol" or IP and content can be accessed across devices, including live broadcasts, video on demand and podcasts.

Even though five decades have passed, RTB's mission remains steadfast to educate, inform and entertain the public. May RTB continue to move forward with interesting as well as quality software and content. Happy 50th anniversary, Brunei TV.
