The Ministry of Defence held the Ilal Hijrah Celebration simultaneously at all Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF garrison surau, camps and bases, including the Pulau Baru-Baru Mosque. The main focus was at Surau Al-Hikmah, RBAF Training Institute, Penanjong Garrison.
Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence. The event included mass Fardhu Subuh prayer, followed by Tadarus Al-Qur'an and a Talk titled 'Semarak Hijrah Mencapai Kecemerlangan Yang Mampan'. Also held was a brisk walk to Kampong Penanjong Mosque, Tutong District; and a donation presentation to 29 orphans in Kampong Penanjong.
