His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received in audience His Excellency Ignazio Cassis, Federal Councillor, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, who is on his first Official Visit to Brunei Darussalam from the 11th to 12th of July 2025. Accompanying His Excellency at the Audience Ceremony was His Excellency Frank Grütter, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Brunei Darussalam and Singapore. The audience ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.

Also present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the Audience Ceremony, His Majesty and His Excellency discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and Switzerland, which have been established since 1984. Both sides welcomed more people-to-people exchanges to deepen mutual understanding through capacity building programmes. His Majesty also expressed appreciation to Switzerland for hosting international organisations, as well as its consistent commitment towards multilateralism and diplomacy.
