The Ministry of Education through the Special Education Department this afternoon launched the Special Education Carnival in conjunction with its 30th anniversary. Held at a shopping centre in Kampung Salambigar, the two day carnival ended on 3rd August 2025​.

The launched was officiated by Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Core Education at the Ministry of Education. Various competitions as well as the Bootcamp Demo Day were organised, involving the participation of special need students from primary and secondary schools nationwide as well as invited participants from Limbang and Labuan, Malaysia. In addition to raising public awareness of the unique abilities, aspirations and needs of students with special needs, the carnival can build confidence, foster inclusive values, as well as to reduce stigma and encourage empathy among the community.
