Brunei Darussalam took a significant step forward in its clean energy transition with the groundbreaking ceremony for the flagship project of a 30-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant in Kampung Belimbing, which is set to become the country's largest solar facility to date. The project represents a significant milestone in the nation's ambition of a low-carbon, sustainable energy future. Developed by Seri Suria Power Brunei Sendirian Berhad, a joint venture between Serikandi Oilfield Services Sendirian Berhad; Khazanah Satu Sendirian Berhad, a government linked company under Ministry of Finance and Economy, and Atlantic Blue Sendirian Berhad, a subsidiary of Malaysia's Solarvest Holdings Berhad. The Groundbreaking Ceremony was held on 11th August morning at Kampung Belimbing.

It was officiated by Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy. Expected to be completed by the end of 2026, the power plant is capable of generating over 64,000 megawatts an hour of clean energy each year, supplying electricity to over 15,500 houses. The project is a symbol of the nation's commitment towards sustainable energy.
