Brunei Darussalam and the United States exchanged views on an efforts to develop sustainable industries, as well as measures to strengthen the capabilities of the workforce through various initiatives and training programmes. These were among the matters discussed by the Members of the Legislative Council during a courtesy visit from two United States Congressional officials under the Mutual Education and Cultural Exchange Act Programme. The courtesy visit took place at the Dewan Majlis building.

During the courtesy visit, the Members of the Legislative Council led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman and the United States Congressional officials also discussed on the structure and role of the Legislative Council. Also discussed were opportunities for cooperation in the field of training and knowledge exchange, including regional and global issues.
