Unity and close cooperation among village residents has made the Kampung Jerudong 'B' Village Consultative Council, MPK, known to many as the main producer of 'kelupis' and several other types of traditional dishes. This success has encouraged MPK members to further diversify their One Village, One Product or 1K1P project with the opening of a recreational park.
The traditional 'kelupis' by MPK Jerudong 'B' is no stranger to the fans of local traditional dish. Following the overwhelming response, kelupis became the main 1K1P product of MPK Jerudong 'B'. To meet the high demand from the public, the kelupis making process is carried out in large batches. Special attention is given to hygiene and food safety aspects from the steaming, wrapping to weaving of kelupis. From only 120 Kelupis, now MPK Jerudong 'B' is able to produce 1,200 to 2,500 Kelupis a day, for 3 or 4 times a week.
To further improve the economic sector of the villagers, MPK Jerudong 'B' is exploring the potential of several other areas including Siandang Beach as a Recreation Park that is a popular destination for visitors.
