National

Jerudong Park Medical Centre, JPMC stands united with the global community on World Patient Safety Day and advocates the theme, “Safe Care for Every Newborn and Every Child". Such an occasion serves as a powerful platform for JPMC to reaffirm its unwavering commitment and showcase its significant advancements in protecting the nation's most vulnerable patients.

Based on the World Health Organisation, WHO data in 2022, an estimated 2.3 million children died within their first 28 days of life. This links to approximately 6 thousand 500 newborn deaths every day, a reminder that access to quality healthcare is critical for mothers and newborns worldwide. In response to the call, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohamad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, as Executive Director of JPMC, emphasised that the hospital's duty is a deep reflection of the trust parents place in them.

This year's theme highlights the necessity of a multidisciplinary approach. The strategic integration of JPMC with Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre, PJSC, on 1st January 2025 has created a unified vision to elevate patient care through enhanced collaboration, a broader range of specialised services, and state-of-the-art technology.
