His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council, in a sabda reminded the national contingent's athletes and officials to carry the good name of the country as an honour entrusted to them with full responsibility and high discipline, in addition to distancing themselves from prohibited substances, and complying with the Anti-Doping act and regulations, enforced by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). His Royal Highness made the sabda at the National Flag Handover Ceremony to the national contingent for the 3rd Asian Youth Games 2025 in Manama, Bahrain. It took place at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, in Berakas, 16th October morning.

 

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development as Acting Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports in a welcoming speech said the athletes' participation can further expand their skills by providing healthy competition.

 

In a sabda, His Royal Highness also reminded the country's sports officials and coaches to always ensure and protect the safety of the athletes from any harassment and abuse, as is the goal of the Olympic Council of Asia in promoting athlete protection policies and initiatives such as the International Olympic Committee Framework in safeguarding athlete protection. His Royal Highness handed over the national flag to Dayang Noorfairuzah Hani binti Haji Mohamad alias Haji Zaini as the Contingent's Chef de Mission. The national contingent comprise six officers and five athletes who will compete in the Swimming and Golf events.
